"Fuck You" Insurance...

So here we are, in the great age of Obama, with our lovely "reformed" health care system.  My brother got sick, he went to his Doctor, our cousin, who called a couple of prescriptions in, he gets to the pharmacy and lo and behold, "That will be 270 dollars for the first medication and 95 for the second."  but "Wait" my brother says, "My insurance should cover this!" and a few phone calls later he finds out that he neglected to fill out some "health information status" form required by his employer and was moved to a lower tier package which doesn't cover these medications.  Undaunted, he calls our cousin back, who agrees to call the prescriptions in to the pharmacy under our father's name, they go together to the pharmacy and lo and behold, "That will be 270 dollars for the first and 95 for the second!" a few phone calls later, my father, who works for a hospital, finds out a similar shift has happened to his insurance.  Our cousin is skeptical at this point, he doesn't want to call the same prescriptions in a third time, but we all confer and agree that perhaps we all caught the same infection at some family gathering.  He calls the script in to the pharmacy under my name, "That will be 4 dollars each, please."  I swipe my debit card for 8 dollars and the deed is done.  My brother has his medication and I have committed fraud to help my brother get well.
My brother is a semi-professional comic, I tell him, this is decent fodder for a skit, "my employer moved me to the "Fuck You" insurance plan...need to see a Doctor? Fuck you! Need some medicine?  Fuck You!"   Sounds like it could be a funny bit, but it's fucked up.  Suppose the Doctor hadn't been our cousin and willing to bend the rules?  Suppose he couldn't find a family member to pose for him with decent insurance?  Where would he be? In a lot of pain.
Thanks a lot, President Hope.
