things I love: Ridiculous amounts of food and alcohol. An excuse for people to skip work the next day. Fireworks over the river. Hanging out with people I haven't seen in a while by a swimming pool near ridiculous amounts of food and alcohol.
Things I hate: It is fucking 1 am and people are still firing off a) fireworks (this I can sort of tolerate) and b) GUNS! It's like every fucking year, they blast PSAs at us with the local Police Chief pleading with people on the television NOT to fire guns in the air for no fucking reason in the middle of the night, reminding them it's illegal to discharge a firearm in the county for non self-defensive purposes, and then, when they do, the cops say, "Oh, that was probably just fireworks" Lazy assholes.
Grrr. Then again, another thing I love, I don't have to get up tomorrow since today was the 4th.
